The Hawaiian Isles

Formed by two mountain masses of volcanic origin, the is;and of Maui is second largest if the Hawaiian chain. A seven mile wide isthmus connects the two mountains, creating a total area of 728 square miles. This is the principal island in the tri-island county of Maui, Molokai and Lanai. like are open. Be sure to let us know your name, address, phone number, arrival date, departure date, and which condo you are interested in. We will send you a Reservation Request Form with instructions on how to have us hold your reservation.

If you prefer, you can fill out the Reservation Request Form below and return it to us at the address on the form with your deposit check. If the dates you request are not available, we’ll let you know and return your check immediately.

Canadians often use vacation and holiday interchangeably referring to a trip away from home or time off work. In Australia and the UK, holiday can refer to a vacation or a public holiday.

The Vanderbilts, Rockefellers, Carnegies, Huntingtons and other fabulously wealthy industrialists built their own spectacular “great camps” in the Adirondacks of upstate NY where they could disport with their families in private luxury. The American vacation was born—quite literally. The scions of New York City took to declaring that they would “vacate” their city homes for their lakeside summer retreats, and the term “vacation” replaced the British “holiday” in common parlance.

Aloha, this blog post is for everyone who is interested in visiting the Maui Ocean Center here on Maui. The Maui Ocean Center has the largest collection of Tropical Fish in the world.  See the Hawaiian Honu (Turtle) up close and personal, gently touch the Star Fish and the Sea Cucumbers in the touch pool…

I recently took my five grandchildren to the Maui Ocean Center Aquarium, you can spend all day or if you have an energetic four-year-old you like i did, you can be in and out in an hour! * with our day pass you can visit unlimited times in a week, always good with young ones…. 

The Maui Ocean Center has 2 main buildings you can walk through.  Everybody loves the Jellyfish tank with the black light lighting and of course walking through the Shark tunnel is probably the most popular thing to do at Maui’s Aquarium! We planned our visit just in time for Shark feeding…

The Maui Ocean Center Aquarium also has an ancient Hawaiian civilization exhibit, a Humpback Whale exhibit, and the rare Hawaiian Monk Seals exhibit. There are several interactive activities for the children to participate in, my grand kids really enjoyed pretending to be “Krill” and ‘getting eaten by a whale’ what with all the bubbles and whale sounds.

In between buildings and exhibits we stopped for refreshments in the center courtyard; while the kids got Shave Ice and Fruit Smoothies, I opted for a fresh Coconut, i love it when places offer coconut milk (or is it water?) in the real live coconut!

After our break we were off to see all the Tropical Fish and the Turtles! We easily spent a good hour looking at all different varieties of Fish including Octopus and little Seahorses! All in all it was a great afternoon and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
